There is no available jurisprudence on the applicability of the internal flight alternative in Italy. In Italian law, the existence of an internal flight alternative within the country of origin should not preclude someone from obtaining refugee status. No cases are known to the Italian Refugee Council in which the internal flight alternative has been applied.

The Internal flight alternative concept is not normally applied by the Central Commission for the determination of status of Refugee with reference to applicants of Kurdish origin coming from Iraq.
