Type of Appointment: Special all-inclusive contract, three months, with possibility of extension
General Functions: Under the general supervision of the Director, Regional Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission in Italy and the direct supervision of the Head of the Programme and Project Implementation Unit, the incumbent will be responsible to:
1. Set up an IOM office within the first reception centre of Crotone for the promotion and divulgation of the voluntary return measure;
2. Provide asylum seekers and migrants hosted in the first reception centre with adequate and necessary information on IOMÕs role and expertise within the issue of assisted return and reintegration activities;
3. Provide necessary information on the programmeÕs benefits to all potential beneficiaries;
4. Closely inform/advise the IOM voluntary return team in IOM Rome on requests of assisted return and refer potential returnees to it for operational follow up;
5. Provide advice and support on repatriation and reintegration to NGOs, Prefecture, and Municipalities;
6. Closely monitor and keep track of budgetÕs expenses;
7. Any other task, as required.
Desirable
qualifications:
Education,
experience and personal qualities |
University
Degree in Law or relevant field and/or equivalent practical experience.
Working experience in projects for asylum seekers and refugees. Good
computer, written and verbal skills. Strong organizational and communication skills. Personal
commitment, initiative, flexibility, efficiency and respect for diversity.
Drive for results. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with
colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds. Good knowledge
of IOM an asset. |
Languages: Thorough knowledge of English and Italian.
