TERMS OF REFERENCE

Position Title:                                  Training Consultant

Organizational Location:              Counter Trafficking (CT)

Duty Station:                                   Pristina, Kosovo (Serbia and Montenegro), Skopje FYR Macedonia - Roving

Project:                                             Prevention and Capacity Building Activities in Kosovo and FRY Macedonia

Duration:                                          6 months

 

       General Function:  

Under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission, the direct management and guidance of the Programme Manager and the Project Officer the incumbent will coordinate the development and start-up phase of implementation of Counter-Trafficking focused training activities. In particular, the incumbent will be directly involved in the supervision of organizational and logistical functions.

 

 

Responsibilities:

                          

• Evaluate existing strategies with an eye to continuous improvement as well as conduct research, analyze and interpret results of previous trainings undertaken by the involved missions;

 

·       In cooperation with the Media/Information Campaign, the Law Enforcement and the Counter Trafficking consultants manage the elaboration and development of training concepts and modules for different audiences, namely NGOs, Governmental counterparts, Media and Law Enforcement bodies;

 

·       Generate training curriculum and material, as well coordinate/supervise the preparation of training agendas;

 

·       Ensure and supervise appropriate pre-training discussions with NGOs and Institutional parties;

 

·       Coordinate and manage the dissemination and updating of produced material;

·       Systematize an appropriate training evaluation mechanism and supervise appropriate training reporting mechanisms;

·       Assist the Information/Media Consultant and the Information Campaign Project Assistant to produce tailored training modules for the media;

·       Support IOM Counter Trafficking team and the Counter-Trafficking consultant to develop tailored training on operational structure and Counter-Trafficking direct assistance activities;

 

·       Assist in preparing reports with findings based on research and trainings, including difficulties and gaps identified, recommendations and more;

 

• Serve as spokesperson where appropriate and approved by direct supervisors;

 

• Coach and prepare spokespeople prior to official meetings;

 

·       Other duties as may be assigned by/ through the supervisor/s.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Desirable Qualifications:

·       University degree, preferably in Political Science, Communication, Gender Affairs or other relevant field, or practical experience equivalent to this;

·       A minimum of 5 years experience in the related field, international experience – a plus;

·       Proven experience in training activities events and ability to prepare clear and concise training plans and reports;

·       Good contact with both local and foreign media, government and academic community, NGOs, business community and suppliers;

·       Prior experience in the Balkans, specifically in Kosovo and FRY Macedonia highly desirable;

·       Knowledge of the fields of Trafficking in Human Beings, Migration, Refugee issues and/or Development is a plus.

 

Skills:

·       Excellent written and oral command of English;

·       Excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills;

·       Strong strategic and creative thinking with ability to exercise first-rate judgment in anti-trafficking trainings and interacting with respective audiences;

·       Capacity to handle high volume of activity;

·       Strong interpersonal skills. Interact effectively with all levels including senior management. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds;

·       Strong project management, organization and analytical skills;

·       Ability to work collaboratively within teams to achieve results;

·       Ability to work independently to meet deadlines with moderate supervision;

·       Ability to invent creative solutions to unique communication challenges;

·       Flexible and able to adapt to change;

·       Willingness to travel required;

·       Good knowledge of the standard computer application word processor, spreadsheet and database programs.
