VACANCY: Director for the PICUM office in Brussels

 

PICUM (Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants) is looking for a full time director to head its office in Brussels, preferably to start by 15 December.

 

The main task of the director is to maintain and develop PICUMÕs role as a leading organisation regarding the protection of human rights of undocumented migrants in Europe, based on PICUMÕs mission statement.

 

Other key tasks include:

-       Managing the secretariat, which entails leading the other PICUM staff and being responsible for financial management

-       Overall responsibility for fundraising activities

-       Representing PICUM at national and international fora

-       Developing and coordinating projects

 

 

 

Education

-               University degree in a relevant field, or equivalent by experience

 

Experience in:

-               Working in the field of social policy and migration

-               Developing, coordinating and executing projects

-               Financial management

 

Skills and Expertise:

-               Knowledge of issues regarding migrants/ social exclusion

-               Knowledge of human rights framework

-               General knowledge of policy making frameworks in Europe

-               Good communication skills

-               Proven organisational skills

-               Able to work independently

-               Proficiency, both oral and in writing, in English (knowledge of other EU-languages is desirable)

 

The appointment is on a full time basis, in a contract with unlimited duration. Gross salary is defined according to the wage scales of the Flemish integration sector, starting from 2427,09 Euro gross (for 0 years seniority).

 

Our organisation

PICUM, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants, is a non-governmental organization that aims to promote the respect for basic social rights of undocumented migrants. PICUM seeks to achieve this aim by providing its members and other interested parties with expertise, advice and support, by strengthening networking amongst organizations dealing with undocumented migrants in Europe, and by formulating recommendations for improving the legal and social position of these migrants, in accordance with national constitutions and international treaties.
