Position Title                 :      Project Coordinator

Type of appointment       :      Special all-inclusive contract, equivalent to G3, duration four months, renewable

 

General functions:            Under the overall guidance of the Director, Regional Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of

Mission in Italy and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of activities of the IOM project ÒProgramme for the enhancement and support of dialogue and management of Western African irregular and transit migration in the MaghrebÓ. In particular the project coordinator will:

 

 

  1. Assist in providing support to the general implementation of the project as requested by the project manager.

 

  1. Ensure that record keeping and accurate financial tracking in accordance with EC programmes standards is carried out.

 

  1. Draft required and progress reports regarding the project, including financial reports, press releases and other external reports.

 

  1. Correspond and develop coordination mechanisms with partners and participating IOM Missions to enhance project performance.

 

  1. Undertake duty trips as necessary to attend meetings, workshops and participate to the other activities of the project:

 

  1. Support project and IOM staff with administrative and logistic issues.

 

  1. Participate in presentations and promotion of the project.

 

  1. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

 

 

 

Desirable qualifications, education,

Experience and personal qualities

 

Education: University degree, preferably in International relations, Law, Political or Social Sciences or a combination of equivalent training and experience.

Direct experience in IOM programme work, particularly in international migration law and migration management. Familiarity with training/educational activities. Field experience and logistical ability in preparing regional meetings and conferences. Proven ability to prepare clear and concise reports. Strategic and creative thinking. Drive for results.

 

 

                                          

Languages: Excellent working knowledge of English and French, knowledge of co-funding statesÕ languages

an asset.
