Type of appointment   :      Fixed-term, part-time (75%), six months, with possibility of extension

 

 

General functions:

 

Under the overall supervision of the Director, Regional Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission in Italy and Malta and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Assistant will be responsible for carrying out tasks in the framework of the PRISMA Project within MRF Rome.

In particular, the incumbent will:

 

  1. Assist in maintaining contacts with Diaspora associations through telephone and e-mail forum .
  2. Collect and keep record of relevant documents/initiatives/projects on Migration and HIV prevention. This will imply collecting best practices on HIV/AIDS prevention for migrants in European countries/developing countries as well as adapting its content to the training modules.
  3. Collect and assist in analyzing scientific publications on the issue of HIV and mobility as well as on HIV/AIDS socio-behavioral studies;
  4. Assist in facilitating the learning process of trainees during classes and at distance (through email groups) assisting them and fostering their participation.
  5. Assist in readapting in collaboration with the training course Coordinator and the Project Manager the training module to different beneficiaries.
  6. Assist in drafting project proposals.
  7. Assist in collecting documents, such as European and Italian policy papers and calls for proposals, on migration & HIV&AIDS/ health.
  8. Handle project-related correspondence and material, draft brief/reports.
  9. Carry out any other task as may be required.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

 

Education and experience: a) University degree in Health related fields, Sociology. b) Experience in the HIV field and/or migration issues. c) Transnational perspective and relations/contacts with Albanians, Moroccans and Peruvians Diaspora / associations in Italy is an asset.

 

Competencies: a) Organizational and communication skills. b) Personal commitment, initiative, flexibility, efficiency and respect for diversity. c) Drive for results. d) Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

 

Languages: Thorough knowledge of spoken and written Italian and English, good knowledge of Spanish and French is an asset.
