The Strategy (the National Strategy in Migration Issues, Refugees Protection  and  Integration) is to be approved by the Bulgarian Council of Ministers following its elaboration in partnership between the relevant institutions and civil society representatives. The project of  the National Strategy in Migration Issues, Refugees Protection  and Integration 2011 – 2020 was presented by the Minister of Interior, participants in its drafting and partners in its further elaboration and agreeing. The Strategy is a natural follow-up of the previous one for the period of 2008 – 2011 while extending the institutional coordination as well as setting up a comprehensive legal framework and institutional infrastructure and mechanisms  for coordinating and managing the national policies in refugees’ protection, migration issues, prevention of illegal immigration and legal immigration integration. The Strategy is an important policy paper shaping up further commitments of the Republic of Bulgaria for joining the Schengen.
